Consulting and Inspection Services

Based on requests from vessel owners and managing companies, and in accordance with the rules and regulations of statutory and classification societies, our team performs condition surveys, pre-sale inspections, pre-PSC inspections (prior to flag registration), and pre-classification inspections.

Without causing any delays for our valued customers, we perform the required inspections in every port and region around the world.

Audit reports are promptly provided to clients. This enables clients to take immediate action regarding the findings, thereby avoiding any delays or issues.

We also conduct system audits and reviews (ISM – ISPS – MLC) as well as internal audits.

Our inspectors possess the necessary qualifications and certifications to perform these audits and reviews.

DEGEM also provides consulting and training services to clients regarding new rules and regulations set to take effect.

The value of an audit lies in generating clear
action without causing delays.

DEGEM conducts inspections using a report format that facilitates decision-making and a prioritized action approach.

Depending on project requirements, condition surveys, pre-sales surveys, pre-PSC/Flag, and pre-class preparations can be conducted. Planning is carried out according to the conditions of the desired port and region.

The Primary Output of an Inspection: The Right Action

Inspection and consulting services are often viewed as “control”; however, the true output of a good inspection is not control, but action. Especially prior to PSC/Flag or classification interactions, the early identification and proper prioritization of deficiencies are of critical importance. Otherwise, the work shifts into a panic mode of “rushing to fix things” on-site; this increases both schedule and cost risks.

DEGEM’s inspection approach is scoped in compliance with status and classification rules. The goal is to identify potential non-conformities early, produce a prioritized list of corrective actions, and provide clear reporting that facilitates decision-making.
